What a concert! On Sunday, September 30, the Emmanuel Community Choir gave its concert, "Scriptures in Praise," to a fully packed church. The crowd was more than receptive to the hard work put on by these people. The concert was a huge success, and we who participated in the production were thrilled to see so many new, regular, and returning faces there. At the end, our choir director passed out roses to the choir members and a few of the special church members who had helped him in getting everything prepared. But he in turn was surprised as the choir presented him with a lovely floral arrangement for his home.

Afterwards, our publicist announced the winner, and the winning name for the "Name the Choir Contest." The new name for the Emmanuel Metropolitan Community Church choir is "The Mighty Messangers of Love."

We in the choir would like to thank all of the people who sent names for the contest. We had dozens of them to sift through. Our audience seemed to approve the name (if their applause was any kind of indication). Immediately following the concert, there was a fellowship gathering downstairs with cakes, cookies, and other treats that were supplied by the choir. All did a wonderful job!

But the choir's work isn't done yet. Due to the overwhelming response, the Mighty Messengers of Love will be repeating their brave performance on November 11, Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. again. Get there early for a seat. It's sure to be a packed crowd. And bring your family and friends. They'll love it! Following this concert again, there will be goodies again for your sweet tooth.

And speaking of your sweet tooth, Emmanuel Metropolitan Community Church is selling delicious Malley's chocolate bars with almonds for only $1.00. On the back of the wrapper is a coupon for a free hot fudge sundae, plus another one for

$2.00 off for one more of their delicious chocolates, so, you get two coupons, a generous bar of rich chocolate and almonds, and you are helping the church. See any church member for any quantity you wish to purchase. If that member isn't selling candy, they'll know of someone who is.

We've had a very productive month in other ways as well, as four of our members went to district conference to represent our church. Our minister of music and his spouse, along with his alternate and her spouse, went to Springfield Ill. on October 11-14. They went to business meetings about the church, church services, singings, dinners, and learning classes to better help guide the many Fellowship of Churches along God's way. Also, congratulations go out to our representative as he was voted to head up a search for us in Cleveland to host this event in the future.

Coming in from Akron on November 11 are the New Vision Singers to perform for us during our morning service on Sunday morning. Please be there to welcome them to our city, and help welcome them to our church. We greatly appreciate their coming to sing for us at the church, and then they will be our special guests later on at the repeat performance of our concert.

Don't forget our concert on November 11 at 7:00 p.m., and more importantly, don't forget Thanksgiving coming up in a couple of weeks. Invite a loved one, or some friends over to eat with you. And if you have any friends who are alone, by all means, let them know they are as welcome as any family in your home.

Remember to share in the bounty God has blessed you with this year, and in the upcoming holidays to come. You will be rewarded tenfold for your generosity. If any of you need to talk to someone during these holidays, remember that God is always there, never on holiday. We are having services on Sunday, as always, and the 100rs are open for you. The address is 10034 Lorain Avenue, and the phone number is 651-0129. Keep this information handy, for whenever you may want it or need it. Don't forget to look for our own special newsletter, Good News, distributed to your local gay establishments. There may be something in there you need to read.

Until next month, Peace, God Bless, and Happy Thanksgiving.▼
